The Media Populism (M-POP) expert survey provides measures of media populism in 34 countries around the world. The experts contacted to collect our data were asked to provide an assessment of the relevant dimensions underlying media populism for a selection of the most important news media in their country of expertise. The dataset measures the proximity of these news outlets with the key dimension of populism – people-centrism, anti-elitism, and outgroup exclusion. This allows a better understanding of media populism in terms of its intensity (how much a given news outlet is close to media populism?) and its peculiar nature (is a given media outlet completely populist, anti-elitist, exclusionist, or not-populist at all?).
